The Great American Bakesale

Don't forget! Our Great American Bakesale to end Childhood hunger is this friday! On Friday April 8th the "Little Monkeys" Bakesale will be in front of the Velvet Monkey Salon on 1701 Northwest 16th Street,Oklahoma City, OK. from 6-9pm, which will be during the "Live on the Plaza" block party. Come buy some goodies, support a great cause and enjoy the Plaza all in one place!

Our bake sale is part of Share Our Strength's Great American Bake Sale ( http://www.strength.org/ ), a national effort to end childhood hunger in America. Today, one in four children is at risk of hunger. They go to school without breakfast and go to bed hungry at night. Without regular, nutritious meals children are unable to thrive in school and face life-long consequences. Share Our Strength is committed to ending childhood hunger by connecting children in need with the programs that can help.

EVERY dollar helps! Did you know $1 can help provide a child with 10 healthy meals? $4 can help provide a hungry child with a backpack full of healthy food over a weekend when they aren't at school. $9 can provide a child with healthy lunches over the summer break. $35 can help a childcare center provide free afterschool snacks and dinners to at-risk children all year long. $65 can provide a grab-n-go breakfast cart at an elementary school so hungry children don't have to skip breakfast.

Live on the Plaza is also always a fun time! They are having an Easter Egg hunt at 7pm, and the Easter bunny will be there all evening. They also have live music, art shows, food and more! It is a family-friendly event, and lots of fun!
