Snow day part 2!

It's our own winter wonderland!

Bourbon didn't want to come out and play with us today, so we don't have any pictures of him in the snow!

Starla wanted to make a snowman, but she couldn't figure out how to make the snow stick together.

Bourbon had gotten impatient with me while I was bundleing up Starla & myself, so he went out before everyone. He got cold and came in before the rest of us even got out there, so we didn't have any pictures of him!

That was yesterday, the first snow day!

So many of you know that I love to bake. I just get into these moods to bake, and I just bake and bake and bake! Well I got into one of those moods on sunday.

I made a blueberry pie

A blackberry cobbler

A blueberry & nectarine crisp with almonds

A cherry & Apple pie

Oatmeal raisin cookies

And peanutbutter and chocolate cookies!

My house was all warm and yummy smelling! And I got to share all these goodies with my extended family!

Our little rock star

Starla is already a little rock star. She loves to sing & dance. She loves singing "mama mia", which cracks me up. I keep telling Alan we need to record her singing and such and start sending it out and get her in commercials or something, she can memorize just about anything! I could be a stage mom, lol.

Roman's iceskating adventure

The weekend after New Year's, we took Roman downtown to iceskate. Bourbon was at his dad's, so he didn't get to come. Starla & I only hung out for about 10 minutes or so before we decided it was too cold and went to the van to watch a dvd! But Alan & Roman had a blast!

Starla's big girl bed

We put together Starla's bed this week and she got to move out of the crib! She loves her new bed. I find her out playing sometimes when she should be in bed, but all in all she has done really well in the transition! Usually I just have to warn her once, maybe twice to get back in bed and the next time I check, she is fast asleep in her bed. Such a big girl!

This was the first time she got on her bed, and he first night in it!

Bourbon's shiner

So Bourbon and 4 of his friends were jumping on the trampoline (yes we have new rules on how many people can be on the trampoline at once now!)last week, and in a crazy dog-pile, only-boys-can-manage accident, Bourbon got kicked in the face by an older kid in the neighborhood (his mom called later, apologizing profusely). In the process, his glasses were snapped (we had just gotten then back from being fixed less than 3 weeks prior!!) and he got one heck of a black eye. It has changed so many colors that I have been taking pictures of it everyday!

This was just a few hours after it happened. You can't see much in this picture except that it is swollen, but he posed in this one and I thought it was cute.

I stopped taking pictures then, I don't have it for the last 2 days, but it is mostly just yellow and slightly red now.

I said it was a good think I volunteer frequently at his school and that they know me, or I might have had DHS knocking on my door!!
