Our crazy summer schedule begins...

Friday the boys got to go to the farm with us for the first time, which they were super excited about....

Then friday before dinner we headed to our favorite spray park for the first time of the season! Woo hoo!

ok, so taking some random kids pic and posting it on the internet is probably wrong on so many different levels, but I just couldn't help myself. This kid had the coolest hair. Ever. :)

Then friday evening Bourbon went to his dads for the weekend.

Saturday morning we went to bricktown to buy our summer movie passes (kids movies once a week for 10 weeks for only $5, can't beat that!)and while we were there we decided to play in the water!

and Saturday ROman & Starla went to Duncan to spend some time at Nana & Aunt Kims while Alan & I went to a Deftones concert with my brother and my niece Destiny....

and while the kids were in Ducan with nana, I got to go spend a little time with tiny miss Ava...is she not the cutest thing ever?! SO excited that she lives just a couple miles down the road....

Starla & Roman got to stay in Duncan until Monday evening, and Bourbon is staying some more extended time at his dads for the summer.

Tomorrow starts the summer movies, Charlotte's web, then we will go play in the water some more, then we will head to the Library to join their summer reading program, then Roman has violin and karate classes. Busy day! But that of course is just the start of our week, because then we have bowling on wednesday with the kidw bowl free summer program, and then probably the zoo on thursday....... and on and on... :) WE LOVE SUMMER!

Need you now

Thanks to the 'Now That's What I Call music 33' CD and the boys insistence on listening to it all the time, this is one of Starla's favorite songs, lol. She practices some lip synching here, and if you listen closely at the end verse she says "I'm a little chump and I need you now" lol, because 'chump' is actually in her vocabulary and 'drunk' is not. She just assumes that's what they are saying....

It's SUMMER TIME!

Monday was the last day of school for the boys, and Bourbon's last day of elementary school. :( He'll be a middle schooler next year!! Eeks!

He won a drawing to have lunch with Mr. Jones (the principal) at Chili's on the last day. Every student that raised at least $40 for the Fund Run got their name entered into the drawing, and one student from each grade was drawn. He was the winning 5th grader. He had a good time! Thanks everyone who sponsored him for the run, both him & Roman raised $100 each!!

What better way to start the first day of summer vacation than donuts?!

As a end of the year gift, I gave the boys certificates to get a book from Barnes & Noble, so we had to go the first day of summer! I LOVE bookstores, I could spend hours looking at books!

Starla's favorite books right now are The Hungry Caterpillar & The Grouchy Ladybug, both by Eric Carle, so we went to find a new book by him for her as well. She decided on The Mixed Up Chamelon. :)

Barnes & Noble has the coolest kid section too.....

The boys had a good time picking out their books.....

followed by lunch at citibites, they always have such fun stores, this one had a little booth tucked away upstairs, so we had to sit there.

My niece Brittany (well, Bourbon's daddy's niece) had her baby girl Monday night, Ava Kinzley! So we went to see her in the hospital on tuesday after lunch, she's sooooo cute!

The kids got to stay the night with Nanny tuesday, which they were thrilled about! Now tomorrow we are heading to the zoo! We love the summer!!

The Yummiest blog ever

I LOVE this blog, it has step by step, mouth-watering pictures of each recipe, which makes it so easy to make!! I made grilled chicken & pinapple quesadillas from there tonight, and they were YUMMY! Go check it out at:

Sunday again...

Here it is sunday again, and I hadn't blogged all week. Well, once a week isn't bad, right?! Lol.

I was sick pretty much all week, with some yucky chest congestion. I spent tues-sat pretty much on the couch, and I didn't do a whole heck of alot today either! But I'm getting better, it just seems to be taking a while.

I did get contacts on friday, and so far so good. I can only wear them for so long a day, friday it was 4 hours, sat. it was 6 hours and today it was 8 hours, tomorrow it will be 10 and so on and so forth. By the time the 8 hours were up today, I was ready to get them out though, they were starting to bug me. We shall see if I can get used to them.

It was Starla's last week of school too, we shall see if she fully comprehends that as tuesday rolls around. She keeps telling me she is going to Germany for the summer to spend time with her friend Gulianna, who is moving there soon. :)

So these are pics from our week......

Starla & Papa hanging out....

The kids & Bourbon's buddy Stewie enjoying some watermelon on the front porch, we are sooo looking forward to summer time!

Tuesday Roman's violin lessons started again after having a little over a month off. Theres a big field next to the new place where he has his lessons, so the other 2 kiddos & I just hung out in the field and played while Roman was at his lesson.....

We made teddy & snuffy flower necklaces.....

Bourbon learned how to do it too.....

Starla hangs out with Mr.Bear. I got Mr. Bear when I was like 18, before Bourbon was even born, then it became Bouron's for many years, then Roman took him, and now Starla is starting to show interest in the bear.....but I'm not sure Roman is quite ready to give him up yet, he still sleeps with him each night..... lol

I had no idea that our farm got hit by one of the tornados on monday either, until we drove out there on friday to pick up our stuff! The tornado tore right through the farm, taking out 2 greenhouses, one of her goat houses, and part of her chicken coop! She still managed to give us a full basket, and says she will just take one week off and then continue baskets and make up that lost week at the end! What a trooper! She didn't have any electricity until yesterday, so she had no way to contact us (all of her contact info was on her dead computer!) until we showed up on friday!

Although I was sick and we didn't do much of anything, we did take care of some important things this weekend, like painting our nails.....

And baking banana bread & muffins. Starla has decided that we need to make banana bread and muffins every sunday, looks like we just might have a new sunday ritual. :)

Blogging block....

Sheesh, has it really been so long since I've blogged? I've apparently got bloggers block, lol. I will try to get better. Time has just been getting away from me, I swear each day just seems to run into the next!

I got a job! Not until next school year, but Starla's school hired me to work in the baby room. It is only part time, Tue-Thurs, but this way I don't have to put Starla into daycare, and we get half off of her tuition for me working there, and I still am able to make an income of some sort. Not quite as much as a teacher would get paid, but it doesn't pay too badly either! And once Starla is in full time school, then I can get a full time teaching job.

So here are some pics and updates of our life......

The best pancake helpers around!

Wed. Alan & I managed to get out for an afternoon picnic while all the kids were at school. We packed some sandwiches and went to eat in "downtown" midwest city, at the new little "park" where they have put in all the new stores off of 29th street.

After our picnic we walked over to the Pink Swirls 'serve yourself' yogurt place, where you fix your own bowl with all the different kinds of yogurts and a million different toppins and sauces to put on! They weigh it and charge you by the ounce!

Alan's ice cream weighed in at 18 ozs!! Mine was only 10. :)

Bonita is now a little over 5 months old and huge!

Friday was farm day as always, we love going out to the farm to pick up our basket of goodies. This week Isis, my neice Destiny's little sister (I know, it gets all confusing...) got to go with us. The girls played with the baby goats, helped collect eggs and chased chickens!

Super Kids Day was friday at the boys school. Super Kids Day is at the end of each school year, where the kids get to spend pretty much the entire day outside participating in various organized activities....

Bourbon getting beaten by a girl....hee hee

Starla's little man Carter was in town this weekend for a visit!

Yesterday Alan & I got to go see Cirque Illuminations, it was an amazing show! This is the first season that we have had season tickets to the Broadway shows, and I love it. We are in the nosebleed cheap seats, but I love getting to go see all of the shows!

Today was of course Mother's Day, and we spent a large part of it at a BBQ at my parents house, with extended family! Here is a pic of me with my parents and my brothers.

Me & My kiddos!

Happy Mother's Day!
