school lunches & long weekend

Starla loves to paint these days. I can't seem to convince her that these coloring sheets that I print up for her of her favorite characters can also be colored with crayons or markers, oh no, they must be painted and painted only. She is so funny.

Thursday was my last day at my UCO class, woo hoo!! And friday was still only a 3 hour day at student teaching, which meant I got to have a half day off! I took advantage and took the boys lunch and got to hang out with them for a bit. It will be the last time until I graduate in Dec. so I thought I better do it while I can! They enjoy it when I come up there for lunch. They get to pick a buddy to come sit at the special visitor's table with us, which makes them all excited.

gotta love McDonald's delivered to school.....

Bourbon and his buddy Zach at lunch!

I waso sooooo looking forward to the weekend, and a long holiday weekend at that! My poor house was in shambles from the last 3 weeks of school taking over my life!! Of course, as my luck would have it, I was sick all weekend long with a yucky head cold. But I still managed to get quite a bit of stuff done that I needed to. It helped immensely that Nanny & Papa took Roman & Starla to the lake all weekend with them, and Bourbon went to his dad's house!

Here are some pics of the lake.....

Today was my first full day of student teaching. I am enjoying it! The day really seemed to go by in a blur!! I am gearing up to teach science for 3 days a week for the 3 weeks, starting next week, so I am excited about that. Thursday of this week the school is doing a McTeacher's fundraiser night at McDonalds, so I get to go work from 7-8pm at the choctaw McDonalds! Fun times! :)

The Little kids

While I was on my scrapbook retreat I made Starla a weekly "schedule" to help her learn the days of the week and to help her know where she goes each day. She loves to wake up in the morning and see what day it is and what she gets to do! Monday she spends with Nanny, tuesday she has school, wednesday she hangs out with daddy, thursday she has school, friday she hangs out with nanny, saturday is home day and sunday is church!

Starla has been very interested in coloring, painting and doing "homework" as she calls it. She sees the boys doing their homework, and wants to do her own. :)

I don't really have any pictures for this post! Things have just been busy!

Bourbon didn't get his form turned in for the flag football team at school, and missed out on getting on the team, but hopefully he will be more on the ball (pun intended, hee hee) for basketball next. We shall see. He is excited that he signed up for the safety patrol, and has gotten picked for the month of March. So everyday in march he gets to help kids cross the crowded parking lot before and after school.

Roman has a new teacher, that we have yet to meet. It happened to him last year too. They realized they had way too many kids in the 2 classes for his grade level and decided to hire a new teacher and make a new class. Roman got picked for the new class and got put in there last week. He says he likes his new teacher Mrs. Shelton. We will get to meet her at Parent night tomorrow. :)

Student teaching is going well. I am so ready for my class to be over, which tomorrow is the last day! The nightly homework has been killing me! But starting next week I get to just be in my student teaching poistion all day every day, so that is exciting to me. I am working on my 2 week unit that I will be teaching in Oct., which is alot of fun. I am also planning on doing an electricity lesson on the 16th of this month, so that's going to be fun too!
