Happy 5th birthday Starla

How does 5 years go by so darn fast?! How does this sweet tiny little baby......

grow up.....,.

so darn quickly......??

Sigh. My baby is 5. My sassy, spunky, crazy ham of a girl is a big 5 year old.

Birthday donuts are the traditonal birthday breakfast in our household!

At school on her birthday they were having an event called "Cookies and Bookies" where you could come pick out a free book and eat some cookies. Starla was convinced they held this in honor of her birthday. :) And she picked out a book called "The Birthday Present". :)

Last year on Roman's birthday we went to Red Robin, and he got a free birthday sundae, and Starla pouted and proclaimed that she would be eating there on her next birthday, that was last November, and she still remembered this birthday that Red Robin was the place she wanted to eat....lol

for the birds......

So our bird unit has been lots of fun so far. We spent the night at my parents house a couple weeks ago and I asked my dad to make bird houses with the boys, and he never ceases to amaze me with his crafty talents. They made amazingly wonderful bird houses out of just materials my dad already had around the place, including one with a plexi glass roof so we can see inside of it!

We've studied birds, watched birds, built bird feeders, built bird houses, and created a bird haven outside of our dining room window. :)

Starla's Puppet Party

Starla's puppet & dress up party was a huge success and lots of fun. Just see for yourself.......

Birthdays Made with Love

I found this organization called Birthdays Made With Love, that provides birthday cakes to foster kids, so we signed up to make 3 cakes for Sept 7th. I let the kids each make a cake, and then we delivered them to a local DHS who delivered them to the kids. Roman was disappointed that he wasn't actually going to meet the kid he made a cake for. :) It was lots of fun, and Bourbon was excited to get signed up again, so we are doing 3 more cakes on the 29th. I hope the kids who are getting them are just as excited about them, as my kids were to make them :)
